What the ICAS Badge Means

The ICAS badge is a declaration of independent evaluation, not an endorsement. Displaying the badge means a platform's practices have been reviewed by ICAS staff against our six-criterion methodology and that the result of that review has been published on this site - accessible to anyone who clicks through.

The badge does not mean a platform is perfect, free of complaints, or endorsed by ICAS for clinical use. It means consumers can find a detailed, transparent, publicly available account of how that platform performed across each criterion. That is all it represents - and that transparency is the point.

Badge Tiers

There are two badge tiers, differentiated by overall ICAS score.

Tier 1

ICAS Reviewed

Awarded to any platform that has completed an ICAS evaluation and had its full report published on this site. Score threshold: any score above zero (the platform was evaluated and findings are public).

Minimum score: Any published score

Tier 2

ICAS Recommended

Reserved for platforms that achieve an overall ICAS score of 75 or higher across all six weighted criteria. This tier reflects strong performance in both scientific rigor and consumer fairness.

Minimum score: 75 / 100

Who Can Display the Badge

Badge display rights are tied directly to a platform's published ICAS evaluation. The following conditions govern eligibility:

Your platform has received a published ICAS evaluation (the review page is live on icasstandards.org).
The badge links directly to your platform's ICAS profile page (not to the ICAS homepage).
You use only the ICAS Recommended badge (Tier 2) if your current published score is 75 or above.

Platforms that have not been evaluated by ICAS may not display either badge in any form.
A platform whose score has dropped below 75 at re-evaluation must remove the ICAS Recommended (Tier 2) badge within 30 days of the updated review being published.
If an ICAS evaluation is retracted or suspended, all badge display rights are revoked immediately pending resolution.
The badge visual and ICAS name may not be modified, recolored, or combined with other marks in a way that implies a different meaning.

Usage Guidelines

Required

The badge must link directly to the platform's published ICAS evaluation URL (e.g., https://icasstandards.org/platforms/your-platform-slug/).
The badge must open in a way that allows the user to navigate to icasstandards.org - do not wrap it in a JavaScript intercept that prevents navigation.
If the badge is displayed as an image rather than the HTML snippet above, the image must include accurate alt text describing it as an ICAS evaluation badge.

Prohibited

Displaying the badge without a published, live ICAS evaluation.
Implying that the ICAS badge constitutes clinical validation, government certification, or approval by any professional body.
Altering the badge to display a score, label, or claim not present in the published evaluation.
Using the ICAS name, mark, or logo in advertising copy in a way that could be read as an endorsement beyond what the published evaluation states.
